Secretary Ridge, the former head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and former governor of Pennsylvania, spoke to the importance of embracing a "smart power" approach to foreign policy as the world becomes more and more interdependent. Ridge also discussed the leading international terrorist threats facing the world and how the United States can better welcome foreign visitors while also protecting the homeland.
