Gov. Tom Ridge Participates in DHS Panel, “Leadership in Times of Crisis.”
WASHINGTON, DC (February 22, 2016) – Moderated by Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, the panel explored strategies for handling crisis situations. The group of former and current governors discussed the challenges of handling crises ranging from terrorists attacks to natural disasters.
Gov. Ridge, calling on his experience as Governor of Pennsylvania and Secretary of Homeland Security after 9/11, discussed the importance of table top exercises, strong leadership, and communication. The group sought to find common methods and strategies that can be used to respond to future incidents.
Joining Gov. Ridge was The Honorable Dan Malloy, Governor of Connecticut, The Honorable Jay Nixon, Governor of Missouri, The Honorable Deval Patrick, Former Governor of Massachusetts, and, The Honorable R.T. Rybak, Former Mayor of Minneapolis.
The event was held at the Newseum Knight Conference Center in Washington, DC.
