U.S. Chamber, Ridge Global Announce Cyber Education Program for Small, Medium-Sized Businesses
June 14, 2016 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Ridge Global, announced today the creation of a new online cyber education effort aimed at preparing and defending American small businesses from cyberattacks.
“Small and medium-sized businesses are increasingly finding themselves the target of cyberattacks, putting them at the forefront of fighting back against hackers to protect our nation’s economic security,” said Ann Beauchesne, senior vice president for National Security and Emergency Preparedness at the U.S. Chamber. “The Chamber is committed to giving our small business members the tools, knowledge and resources needed to better protect their networks from a cyberattacks.
The program will launch in the fall and will leverage the cybersecurity expertise of Ridge Global as well as insightful content developed by the Chamber through extensive engagement with its members on real world cyber challenges.
“No business is too small to be the victim of a cyber attack,” said Gov. Tom Ridge, chairman of Ridge Global. “We are pleased to work with the Chamber on this proactive program that will do more than just provide information about today’s threats, but will focus on practical ways that small businesses can reduce their risk while protecting customers and the bottom line.”
This new initiative is part of the U.S. Chamber’s cybersecurity awareness campaign, Improving Today. Protecting Tomorrow, which aims to advance cybersecurity policies and educate business of all sizes about cyber threats and how to protect against them.
